Background
I was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and spent
the first half of my life until 8 years old there. I grew
up in the second half of my life in Little Rock, Arkansas, where
my love of drawing and painting was developed in fine arts.
I started selling my fine artwork 32 years ago in
Little Rock and now have my work all over the United States,
in Scotland and in Holland. I started working in graphic arts in
1978 and went to college to study more about graphic arts and new
techniques in 1988. I am Cherokee Indian (my main line), Saponi, Powhatan
and Pamunkey nations, African, Pict and Scottish in my heritage
and ancestry. I sign all of my work as Karen Bunch, my
maiden name because when I first sold my work I had my
maiden name.

Experience and education
I am self
taught but did study under art teacher Kenneth Doyle for a short time
covering charcoals. I have studied art history and compared
techniques with other artists that I have been around. I started
selling fine art paintings in 1973. I started working in
graphic arts in 1978 and went back to college to study graphic arts in
1988. I still do graphic arts when requested. I like to
design the most. The study of graphic art did help with
paintings in some areas and did teach me how to put lettering on
paintings for companies that commissioned me to do them. I
have worked for individuals since 1974 and for companies since
1988. I have done paintings from small to
huge.
Interests
Learning languages, I speak 10, breeding
exotic birds, learning about the true history of the Native
American Indians and love talking to people in different
countries as the languages enable me to do so if they do not speak
English. I love meeting people and building friendships all
around the world.
